Drillthrough detail row expression error

We have setup Default Detail Row Expression in Tabular Editor for a PBI report.
When the users use Analyze in Excel functionality for the report the "See details" option in the Pivot table has been working well. Now users with an Excel version of 2403 or later get an error message when going into "See details".

"RETURN clause cannot be used with the DRILLTHROUGH statement when a DetailRow expression is already defined on the measure"

 

Rolling back the Excel version for the users is not really an option.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

    If possible, consider removing the DetailRow expression from the metric, but this may not be ideal if you need the detail row for other purposes.
    Depending on the complexity of drilling down into the details, consider using an alternative reporting method, such as creating a separate detail report in Power BI and linking to that report through Power BI's drill-down capabilities.
    The following is a hypothetical example of adjusting a DetailRow expression to ensure that it does not conflict with a DRILLTHROUGH statement. Assume you have a DetailRow expression as shown below:

    EVALUATE
SELECTCOLUMNS(
    FILTER(
        'Sales',
        'Sales'[ProductID] = SELECTEDVALUE('Product'[ProductID])
    ),
    "OrderID", 'Sales'[OrderID],
    "Quantity", 'Sales'[Quantity],
    "Total", 'Sales'[Total]
)

    Keep Excel and Power BI up to date. Considering that it affects common features, Microsoft may release a fix for this issue in a future update.
