Hi all,
Our organisation has recently implemented a data warehouse on SQL Server (replcing our direct connection to a MySQL Server).
Long story short, I've been researching connection to the data as a Direct Query rather than Import.
Does this mean the dataset does not need to refresh (as the warehouse has its own refresh schedule)? We would be ecstatic if we did not have to schedule refreshes, as we have a sizeable number of datasets and without Premium we tend to run into the situation where multiple refreshes need to be scheduled at the same time.
I would love to know if we implement the datasets as Direct Query, does this mean the data in the dataset is automatically updated without scheduling a refresh.
Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous
"I would love to know if we implement the datasets as Direct Query, does this mean the data in the dataset is automatically updated without scheduling a refresh." The answer is Yes, the report will refresh as often as every 15 mins, but can be refreshed also when a user acts on the report.
