Deployment pipeline adds new copy of report instead of replacing

Hello everyone. Hope your day's been going well so far. So, in our oranization, we have multiple Business Units (BU). For each distinct BU, we have created a PBIX report and published it to PBI Service in a workspace called BU_Dashboards. Recently, I created another workspace called TEST_BU_Dashboards and created a deployment pipeline.

In this pipeline, the BU_Dashboards workspace is selected as Production Stage and TEST_BU_Dashboards workspace is selected as Test Stage. Now, I have a report named Art. Int. resising in BU_Dashboards workspace. I downloaded the same and made some modifications to it. Then I published it to TEST_BU_Dashboards for testing to be performed by users. Now that the users have given me green flag to move the modifed report to Production, I tried to do the same using the Deploy button in pipeline. But, as one would expect, PBI Service is not replacing the Art. Int. report, which is already there in BU_Dashboards workspace. Instead, now it's shwoing me 2 copies of the same report, with same name (which is what threw me off). Does anyone know how I can get it to replace the existing report (with same name) while publishing/deploying from TEST environment to Production ??

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Nachiket

Artifacts (e.g. datasets) need to be created by the deployment pipeline first for them to be overwritten by it, otherwise you'll get duplicates like you just did. You need to stick to certain guidelines for deployment pipelines to work:
