Dataset access

I have given workspace viewer access plus build dataset access to a test account and user account. 

When I test extracting the dataset using power bi desktop via test account, it worked and I can also pull in data from other source to create my own model.

However, the user account can only extract the dataset and can't pull in data from other source.

May I know what possible reason could it be? Same access but different experience.

What data sources does "other source" refer to, and are the permissions between test account and user account the same, and what's the difference?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I found the difference. Seems like user is having a desktop version which is before April 2023. Have asked the user to check the box of DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS and it is solved.
