Hi.
I'm getting the extensionDataSourceKind, extensionDataSourcePath error cannot connect to Gateway error on my dataset connection. My dataset connects to 2 data sources. It connects to a dataflow that links to both an Azure SQL Server database to get the user group mapping information and then it links that information to Active Directory to get the actual user data.
In the report in Desktop, the dataset then links the dataflow back to the same Azure SQL Services database to get the Azure Cost Management data for the dashboard.
On the gateway, the SQL Server connection is fine, but I get the extensionDataSourceKind error for the Power BI connection. And the Power BI datasource that had previously been added automatically to my gateway was not added. But the dataflow is refreshing now without error.
I've been told that this is a false error, but I'm skeptical. I haven't had any new user data yet so I can't prove that the dataflow connection to the dataset is working.
Can anyone confirm for me that the error can just be dismissed? We experienced the error before and fixed it when the power BI data source was added when another admin logged in and then added my name as a user. Additionally, has anyone seen the Power BI datasource be added automatically along with the other data sources that we add manually?
Hi @bknowles ,
Is there a detailed error message?
You could check the Issues forum here:

If it is not there, then you could post it.

Jay
