Dataflows from own workspace are empty in desktop

Hi, I have been using Power BI for a few years now, but not actively the whole time. I recently begun to create a new report and noticed that there are some significant changes how the data is imported to a report, compared to previous ways, as far as I understood them. I am referring to dataflows.

I watched some tutorial videos about the dataflows and succeeded in creating a couple of dataflows. One is in my own default workspace and other one in newly created workspace using Power BI paid trial acount.

Data to them is brought from Google Analytics.

After completing the dataflows, I created a report in Power BI Desktop with said dataflows. For some reason, the data from newly created workspace work fine, but data from my old default workspace do not. It says the tables are empty. I created a few different tables from Google Analytics data and they all seem empty when loaded in Power BI desktop. In the browser version of Power Query they work fine.

I also created a third workspace to test this thing and dataflow from that workspace works okay in Power BI Desktop. So it seems that there is something wrong with my original own workspace, which I have used previously many times without this kind of problems.

Earlier today I deleted some unused reports from the default workspace, along with some Lakehouse and Warehouse stuff. I am not familiar with those and I fear they should not have been deleted. They seem to be created again when needed, but is it possible that the deletion of the original files have somehow broken the workspace? Is there a way to reset the workspace to default settings and contents? I haven't found a way to do that. Also I have not found any logs concerning the empty dataflow tables.

This new structure with dataflows and datasets makes it more difficult for me to create reports compared to previous structure. I used to fetch Google Analytics data directly to report without any problems, but I understand that is not possible anymore. At least I could not get Google Analytics data to report without creating a dataflow in between first.

Thanks for all replies beforehand! I am stuck and will welcome warmly any tips to address this problem.

The reason why I want to use the default workspace is because I may not probably get a paid account after the trial ends, so I would not want to create now something that I cannot use in the future.

I attached below a couple of screen captures with details blurred. The first is table view in Power BI Desktop, the second Power Query in browser with the same data.

The Power Query view is a preview.  After you save the Dataflow, you need to Refresh it at least once for it to actually run and store data to then be viewed in Desktop.

The fact that you are able to see the Dataflow in Desktop but the data is blank, suggests that you've created and saved a Dataflow but have not yet Refreshed it.

I have refreshed the data using browser UI and they all seem fine there.

Try creating another Dataflow that sources the original Dataflow (essentially what you are doing in Desktop) and see if Data shows.  Trying to understand if the issue is with the Dataflow or Desktop.

Thanks for tips!

I have used the GA connector in Power BI Desktop previously without problems, but something has changed and now it gives me error every time when I try to connect Power BI Desktop to GA. That is why I begun to investigate dataflow use.

I tried windsor.ai and it worked fine. The thing is, I have no budget at the moment, so I have to use only free stuff. Windsor free account have 28 days limit and I need to chart a whole year from GA data.
