Dataflows Storage can't connect to ADLS Gen 2

Hi,

 

I'm studying the usage of PBI Dataflows + ADLS Gen 2.

 

  • Power BI Account = free, but with PPU trial
  • Power BI Tenant region = Brazil South
  • Azure Resources region = Brazil South (resource group, storage account)
  • Azure Permissions (IAM) = set owner at all levels in all resources, for Power BI Service, Power BI Premium and myself

I'm still getting error as if the regions were different.

 

Any comments?

Hi,  @Anonymous 

Before you can configure Power BI with an Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 account, you must create and configure a storage account.

Please check the Prerequisites for Power BI:

  • To bring your own ADLS Gen 2 account, you must have owner permissions at the storage account layer. Permissions at the resource group or subscription level will not work. If you are an administrator, you still must assign yourself owner permission. Currently not supporting ADLS Gen2 Storage Accounts behind a firewall.

  • The storage account must be created with the Hierarchical Namespace (HNS) enabled.

  • The storage account must be created in the same Azure Active Directory tenant as the Power BI tenant.

  • TLS (Transport Layer Security) version 1.2 (or higher) is required to secure your endpoints. Web browsers and other client applications that use TLS versions earlier than TLS 1.2 won't be able to connect.

  • The ADLS Gen 2 account must be deployed in the same region as your Power BI tenant. An error occurs if the locations of the resources are not in the same region.

  • Finally, you can connect to any ADLS Gen 2 from the admin portal, but if you connect directly to a workspace, you must first ensure there are no dataflows in the workspace before connecting.

As I said in bullets 2 and 3: all my Azure resources are in the same region as PBI Tenant (Brazil South)...

The same goes for other requirements. It seems I matched them all, but still doesn't work, I don't know why...
