Hello everyone!
We are using the web version of the PowerBI, and have made a successful connection to the AWS Aurora/MySQL database. In Dataflow we can see a preview of the data, so we can see that the connection is established correctly.
Then I click 'Save and Close', however, when I click on refresh, an error immediately appears
Error: DataSource.MissingClientLibrary: We were unable to find a database provider with invariant name 'MySql.Data.MySqlClient'..... RootActivityId = ..................Param1 = DataSource.MissingClientLibrary: We were unable to find a database provider with invariant name 'MySql.Data.MySqlClient'. Request ID: ...................
Can you please tell me what the problem might be and how we can solve it?
Thank you all!
Hey @technicaltb ,
it sounds a bit like you don't have the right driver for MySql Database.
All sources are connected directly from Service?
No gateway involved?
Regards
Hi @sergej_og
We tried MySQL on EC2, and MySQL/Aurora. Yes, we connect to the DB sources from the PowerBI web. We don’t use gateway
Not sure how MS manage this topics insides Service.
Obviously it doesn't work.
Does it make sense to you trying to connect via GW?
Or is there a categorically a "no" for the usage?
Regards
