Dataflow edit - slowness issues

Hi - Recently, we have started seeing slowness issues editing dataflows even for very small tweaks.

It is taking forever for validation.

Currently, all our dataflows are connected to SQL server on premises.

I appreciate any help to resolve this issue.

Thanks,

JT

There could be dozens of issues:

  1. has the data size grown significantly?
  2. has the memory and/or processor allocated to the gateways been altered?
  3. are all of the gateways in the cluster up or have some been removed or taken down for service?
  4. have other reports/dataflows been added and the gateways are overloaded?

That is just for starters. You'd need to start working through issues and eliminate things until you find the cause. For monitoring Gateways, see Monitor and optimize on-premises data gateway performance | Microsoft Docs
