Dataflow Datasource Url Update Help

Hi,

So I am currently facing a database migration of the datasource I am currently using for a dataflow in Power BI service. Once the migration has been completed new links to the OData feed (API) will be provided and I will have to update the link including the credentials for the dataflow to work properly.

When going to the settings of the dataflow and edit the credentials of the datasource I cannot update the link itself since it is greyed out. However, when I head over to Edit Entities and the advanced editor in the entities I can change the Source (Odata link) to the entity.

Would it be sufficient to update the current link in the advanced editor with the new once provided and then go to data source settings for the dataflow and update the credentials in the edit credentials link?

Hi there

That is how I would certainly do it.

What I typically also do, is to create a new test dataflow and try out the steps detailed above.

When having a test dataflow it allows you to make sure it works without breaking something that is already working.

Point taken about having a test flow to update the URL on prior to making changes to the production one. Thanks for quick reply!
