Hi,
Is anyone experiencing an issue where the names and types revert to default names and types after refreshing their reports? For example, if a metric is a percentage or currency, it reverts to numbers. If the metric name is XYZ in table and I change it to X YZ on the visual, sometimes the name automatically loses the space and becomes XYZ.
I change the data types on the desktop version using the Column Tools section and names on the Visualization pane

Hi @xyz9809,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Make sure that you're using the latest version of Power BI Desktop. Go to one of these locations to download and install the latest version of Power BI Desktop:
Download Power BI | Microsoft Power Platform
Power BI Desktop - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
If the issue still persists after downloading the latest version it may be a potential bug Please consider reaching out to Microsoft Support. You can provide them with all the troubleshooting steps you've already taken, which will help them understand the issue better and provide a resolution. They might be able to identify something specific about your admin account setup or provide a solution that isn't immediately obvious.

Hi @xyz9809,
Could you please confirm if the issue has been resolved after raising a support case? If a solution has been found, it would be greatly appreciated if you could share your insights with the community. This would be helpful for other members who may encounter similar issues.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
Is your report a thin report built off a semantic model or is the model included in the report? Is the model a Fabric/Lakehouse semantic model or a traditional PBI semantic model?
I bring tables/ views from Lakehouse to Power BI desktop and then publish it. The semantic model is in PBI but it uses Lakehouse data
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
Check out the June 2025 Power BI update to learn about new features.
