Data source cannot be updated credentials are invalid
Hello there!
I have set up a report on Power BI using data from a Salesforce report.
Basically, I get the data from salesforce on power BI desktop, do some data wrangling and visuals then I publish on power bi service and share with coworkers. I have also scheduled updates and since my data is on the Cloud I don´t use Gateway.
However, this past week every morning I enconter this error message:
"Last update failed: Thu Apr 11 2019 06:16:55 GMT-0300 (Brasil Standard Time)
It looks like the update token has expired. Go to the settings page for this dataset and reinsert the OAuth2 credentials of the Salesforce data source"
and
"Your data source can not be updated because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again."
But every time this happens, I always update my credentials, log in to my salesforce account using Organizational Level of privacy and I have not changed my password if that was the case.. and yet the problem persists
What should I do?
Thank you!

Hi, were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues updating my data too. Maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Based on my test, I cannot reproduce your issue here. I suggest to create a support ticket for help if you are a pro user.
