Data residency for semantic model in powerbi service

Hi,

I have create da VNET-Datagateway created in powerbi service and it works well with dataflow.

I create a new Report/Dataset in PowerBi Desktop with a Azure SQL-Server Database as source, this connection is made via on-premise gateway and using Direct query.

Works fine when I publish this to PowerBi service and report with corresponding semantic model gets published.

Now I will change the settings for this semantic model so it can access the database behind the VNET-Datagateway. I am able to refresh the data successfully.

I want to know the data I see on semantic model, where does the data reside? How is it securly saved?

And are there any logs generated which tells when and by whom the data was accessed?
