Hi,
I’m facing an issue with scheduled data refresh after moving from Premium Capacity to Fabric Capacity.
Earlier, on Premium Capacity, the dataset refresh used to complete in around 30 minutes.
Now, on Fabric Capacity, the refresh starts at 6:00 PM, but it fails 3 times before finally completing successfully.
This is happening consistently after the switch.
Details from the last refresh attempt:

Hello @Mohan128256,
From the refresh history, we can see that all data refresh attempts failed while the query cache refresh completed. This usually points to a problem with the connection to the underlying data source.
A common cause is that after migration, the authentication credentials have expired or are no longer valid. I suggest you:
Go to the dataset settings in the Power BI / Fabric service.
Check under Data source credentials.
Re-enter or re-authenticate with the correct account (make sure to use organizational account + enable SSO if available).
Once reconnected, trigger the refresh again — if it succeeds, then the issue was authentication.
If errors persist after re-authentication, it could be related to gateway configuration (if the source is on-premises) or to permissions changes on the data source itself.
Hope it can help you !
Best regards,
Antoine

Hi @Mohan128256
Thanks for confirming. Since you’ve already tried re-authenticating but the issue still persists, could you please share the latest error message or a screenshot from the refresh history after re-authentication?
Also,check:
Is this dataset connecting through a gateway (on-premises or cloud)?
Can you confirm if the dataset is mapped to the correct data source ?
Hi @v-aatheeque ,
This is the latest status — I haven’t faced any issues here. The dataset is connecting through the gateway and everything looks fine. I’m just monitoring to see if the error reappears after authentication, but so far it’s running without problems.
Hi @Mohan128256
Thank you for the update. Glad to know the refresh is working fine after re-authentication and the issue seems to be resolved for now.
Meanwhile, do continue using the Fabric Community for any further queries. If any of the responses here were helpful, kindly consider marking them as the accepted solution.
Thank you for being a part of the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!
Thank you for the support. Yes, the refresh is working fine now after re-authentication, and I’ll continue to monitor it. I’ll also make sure to check the Fabric Community for any future queries and will mark the helpful responses as the accepted solution.
Hi @collinq,
I didn’t face any issues while using Premium capacity—refreshes were completing within 30 minutes. However, after switching to Fabric capacity, I started experiencing problems. The refreshes are now failing frequently and taking much longer to complete—sometimes around 2.5 to 3 hours.

Hi @GilbertQ
I have seen that it is showing timeout error. i have attached the screenshots of Failed error.
HI @Mohan128256 ,
Can you please share the details of the error? That will probably tell us all what the problem actually is that is causing it to fail.
