Hi,
I have built a report using the connector to Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights. I am able to refresh the data manually using Power Bi Desktop, but I am wanting to automate the data refresh. The "Scheduled Refresh" options are greyed out, and reading indicates that a data gateway should be used to enable a refresh, however the data gateway reports the extension cannot be added to the gateway.
Any assistance in resolving this (through scheduled refresh, gateway config, or anything else) to enable auto data refresh would be appreciated.
Please refer the below comments and link.
Business users can easily install these apps from Microsoft AppSource. Once installed, they can access via the web portal or their iOS, Android, or Windows devices. They can easily find and return to your content because it’s all in one place. They get all your updates automatically and you can control how frequently the data refreshes.
As per the above comments, hoping that you won't get that option.

The report publishes as an app without a problem, except that as noted in my original post, "scheduled refresh" is greyed out. This reply unfortunately doesn't address my issue.
Hi @Tim_Lamb ,
According to your description, it seems like you are working with Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights(beta), right?
In my opinion, I'd like to suggest you use Azure Cost Management connector for Power BI to instead, azure consumption insight connector features have been including in it. (I don't think power bi will add gateway datasource support for beta connectors)
Connect to Azure Cost Management in Power BI Desktop
In addition, you can also use web connector to get data from Azure Consumption Insights rest API. After you publish the report to power bi service side and update data credentials, it can be updated hourly without a gateway. (cloud datasource will update hourly)

Correct.

That's in beta as for me as well.
Additionally, we are an EA user, and although the page linked to states it's available for EA users, using our EA number as the billing ID doesn't result in a connection - Power BI Desktop states "TenantId: Failed to discover tenantsBillingAccountId: Failed to discover tenants". Previous posts https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Using-new-Azure-Cost-Management-Connector-issues-with-Accou... indicate that advice from Microsoft advised using the Microsoft Azure Consumption Insights connector.
Thanks for the quick response.
Hope you query got clarified.
