So I set up a report that exclusively uses a dataflow as it's data source. This data flow has 5 tables is scheduled to refresh every 3 hours daily.
When I published said report, it created it's own dataset. Upon checking it's lineage, I didn't find any issues as it's still using the dataflow as the source.
The dataflow's scheduled refresh goes off without problems however the report does not show the correct refresh timestamp via the query below:
let
Source = PowerBI.Dataflows(null),
#"workspaceID" = Source{[workspaceId="workspaceID"]}[Data],
#"dataflowID" = #"workspaceID"{[dataflowId="dataflowID"]}[Data],
LastRefresh1 = #"dataflowID"{[entity="LastRefresh"]}[Data]
in
LastRefresh1
That said, do I need to schedule the refresh of the report's dataset as well even though I already have its source dataflow refresh scheduled in order for me to properly display the refresh timestamp?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes, you have to schedule refresh of your dataset as well.
Do schedule it once your dataflow refresh completes and add some buffer to that
