Hi!
What data sources, when connected through Power BI Desktop, have automatic refresh in Power BI Service? I can't find the exact answer in Power BI's official documentation.
Thank you!
Power BI Desktop is simply a development tool
Power BI Service is a collaboration and viewing tool.
These services are only connected conceptually. The desktop has not automatic refresh function as the files are static. When you open the file, you can simply press the refresh button.
The Power BI service, being an online space were people will view the reports, supports scheduled refreshes.
Alternatively, you can make use of Direct Query or connect to Live Datasets (such as a model hosted in the Service or on Analysis Services), which always grab the current data.
@Anonymous Thanks for the response!
What I wanted to know is what exactly is the Automatic Refresh from this Power BI Documentation?
