Data Refresh error in Power BI Service for MS Project

I am to connect MS Project from Power BI Desktop through Odata Feed. Once published in Power Bi Service not able to refresh data as its throwing error in the credentials provided.

Error: "The Credentials Provided for OData source is Invalid"

In Power Bi Desktop Microsoft AUthentication was there but in Power BI Service only Anonymous/Basic/Key Aunthentication was available.

@Anonymous  I don't use Project Online so unfortunately can't elaborate on specifics. 

With Azure, it would look something like this: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/report/powerbi/client-authentication-options?view=azure-devops#:~:text=Enter%20credentials%20within%20a%20client,-Both%20Power%20BI&text=Open%20Power%20BI%20Desktop.,OData%20endpoint%20and%20choose%20OK. 

There is also a pre-built web app for Project Online data: 

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/service-connect-to-project-online but I'm sure it's not exactly what you're looking for.

Sometimes basic works, but needs to be configured in backend. Are you trying to connect to Project Online?

Could you please elaborate on  basic Authentication that needs to be configured in backend. As it didnt work for me. if you explain i can try that too.

Basic Authentication only i tried. It was not working. And  yes we are trying to connect MS Project Online Portal. From Power BI Desktop we can able to connect and refresh without any issues. Only Power Bi Service we are facing issue.

Hi Allison, 

There was no option for "OAuth2"  only Anonymous/Basic/Key Aunthentication was available for Odata
