Data Refresh Schedule Error while processing the data in the semantic model

We publish a report to the Power BI Service and then set a data refresh schedule. However, when the scheduled refresh is triggered, an error occurs. The data source is an Excel file hosted in SharePoint Cloud.

The error points to the table named Data Corrections, which uses other appended tables as its source.

I hope you can help me with these problem. TIA and have a Good day.

Yes I would. Those old formats will require a driver. That means a VM with a gateway and driver in order to read it. If you want to read it from cloud, you should convert it to xlsx.

Just to complement what was already said by @ibarrau , in addition to XLSX, XLSM also works (and in case you have any macros enabled on your spreadsheet, XLSM would be a better choice).

Hi. In our case, we have only .xlsx and .xlsb format stored in SharePoint. Now, we'll try to do what @ibarrau suggest and hopefully it works 🙂

Hi. Cloud it be that the file is "xls"? If so, please convert it to xlsx so you can read and connect directly to sharepoint. Otherwise you will need a gateway in order to install an OLEDB client that reads xls in the machine.

I hope that helps,

Hello. Thanks for your input. I have 1 file that is in .xlsb format. Does it also affect the refresh ? Do I need to convert other formats into .xlsx ? 🙂

Thank you. I'll consider this solution final once we've made the necessary changes and the refresh is successfully completed. Have a good day 🙂
