Create an app - Tabs and access

Hello all,

Hope someone can help, since i'm lost at the moment.

We are creating the powerBi app.
When I look at info sources / youtube video's / AI support it shows me that there are 3 buttons:
1. Setup, 2 content, 3 audience.
(i.e. this Youtube video: Best way to share Power BI reports App - YouTube)

However, when i create an app, I see 6 different options (in Dutch, but that shouldn't be the issue ey?)
I can select a rapport, but cannot find the tabs of the rapport
I can send it to people, but cannot give them access to or on the pages.

What am I missing?

Additional info:
Report type: report
1 PBIX file - 7 tabs.
Added to app button is clicked.

If any further information is needed, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hi @LumiNL ,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.

From what you've described, it appears you're using the legacy version of Power BI apps, which doesn't support features like audience selection or per-page visibility. This version was officially retired on May 1, 2024. To access the newer capabilities shown in recent documentation and videos, such as selecting specific report pages for different users, you'll need to upgrade to the new Power BI app experience with audiences.

You can upgrade the app directly from the workspace using the "Upgrade now" banner or from the Update app option. If you don't see the banner, you can unpublish the existing app and create a new one from the workspace. The new experience will give you access to the Setup, Content, and Audience tabs where individual page access can be configured.

That's where it then goes wrong, but for some unknown reason I don't see these options.

I see the report name.
But I don't see the separate pages (tabs)

I followed the exact steps as the Youtube video, but i am really missing those additional options in my screen.
See the images on my post as a clarification of what I see.

When you first create an app you will see the additional options as a menu.  When you update an app they will be part of the Setup page.
