Hi,
I am trying to set up a connection to an ADLS Gen2 account on the power bi premium workspace. I have enabled the Hierarchical Namespace, have owner, Storage blob data reader, and Storage blob data owner roles assigned to my account at this resource scope. When I try to map this storage account in the Azure connections tab in workspace settings I get the following error.
My access to the storage account:
I m trying to migrate an AAS model to power bi and need this set up before I can proceed with it.
I would be pleased with any kind of help.
Thanks,
Monisha
Hi @Anonymous ,
One possible reason for this error is that you have not granted the Execute permission on all parent folders up to the root (the container) of the ADLS Gen2 account. This permission is required for Power BI to access the data in the ADLS Gen2 account. You can grant this permission by using the Azure portal or the Azure Storage Explorer.
Another possible reason is that you have enabled soft delete for blobs and containers in your ADLS Gen2 account. This feature may cause some issues when connecting to Power BI. You can disable this feature by going to the Data Protection section of your ADLS Gen2 account in the Azure portal.
