I have a Power BI Desktop downloaded on a remote desktop. I have on this Power BI Desktop a report that is connected to a SQL Server. When I publish the report to Power BI Service it fails to refresh. I downloaded the free Power BI Gateway on the remote desktop and connected it to the service, but it has failed to connect to the SQL Server. I need this data updated on the service daily from the SQL Server at 6am. I cannot seem to get it working. Please advise.
Thank you,

Resolution:
Hi @Fools_Gold ,
You can refer to this document to refresh the data in your local SQL Server database.

In addition, check for any errors in the gateway connection and data source credentials in the semantic model settings for this report.

It could be possible the reuired ports are not open to access the SQL server form your remote desktop, where the gateway is installed or the remote server was offline when the refresh was scheduled
