Clustered Column Chart not sorting correctly for web service users

Greetings all,

I have a clustered column chart where I've sorted the x-axis by stops/hour, descending. Below is a screen clip from PBI desktop where I built the visual. (I've clipped off the staff names on the x-axis.) Note the sort options that I've selected; Average Stops/Hour, Sort descending:

Now if we jump over to the published version in PBI web service, here is how it looks on my screen under my login:

All good, it looks the same (for me!) as it does in desktop PBI.

However, for people that I've given access to this report, when they open the report in the web service under their logins, they see this visual sorted by staff name, alphabetically, ascending. Again, all the clips have the x-axis clipped off to hide the names, but pretend the staff names are Able, Bob, Charlie, David, Ed, and Frank. And that is how the data is sorted in the web service for other viewers:

Any ideas on what I did wrong so that the x-axis is sorted differently for report viewers other than me?

(As a side note, big shout-out thanks to @Sean for his post describing how to display a date range in a card! That visual in my report is all his. https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Display-a-range-of-dates/m-p/141013/highlight/true#M60750)

Thanks for trying! Eventually, we figured out that the problem was attached to the use of a pair of "Constant Lines" under the "Analytics" options. With the constant lines included, the views from the web service were rather random; sometimes the x-axis sorted alphabetically by user (wrong), sometimes it sorted descending by the numeric value (right). Over a couple of days, even I saw that on my own screen. Sometimes one way, sometimes the other. We (all the users of the report), got together to discuss the issue and what we really needed. We decided to get rid of the constant lines showing the target goals and we went with a little text box that simply proclaims the goals. With the constant lines removed, the chart sorts correctly in the web view, always, for everyone. (So far! We just made the changes yesterday afternoon, so not a long time, but so far, we are all seeing the chart displayed correctly.) Thanks again for trying to help!

Hi @Anonymous ,

I cannot reproduced your issue.

Does the same thing happen to all users who open this report? Or does it only happen to a small number of users?

After you sharing to the users, did the user change the sorting field and sorting method when viewed the report on the Service?

Or has the user not made any changes and as soon as they open that shared report the data sorting is not consistent with what you have in Desktop?

If it is possible, please check if this happens again with a different browser.
