Client Dashboard Solution

I'm fairly new to Power BI and am creating some visualizations. What is the best method for distributing to clients, with the following in mind:

1. Client data is confidential. Client 1 shouldn't be able to see Client 2's data.

2. All data is stored in SQL Server. Could also be in Excel if necessary.

3. We don't want the client to have to download anything; so a web-based solution would be best. Ideally they log in and see the same dashboard as all other clients, but the data feeding it is specific to them.

Thanks!

Hi @gattoun,

In order to show data dynamically based on client ID, Row-level security (RLS) would be a good choice.  RLS can be used to restrict data access for given users. Filters restrict data at the row level. You can define filters within roles.

If you want to embed reports into web-based application with Row-Level security, please refer to this similar thread: Power BI Embedded with Row-Level Security?

Best regards,
Yuliana Gu

Row Level security is likely to be the solution you need to consider for confidentiality.

Clients will need to have a Pro License to see reports/dashboards if you share it with them using the Power BI Service, unless you go down the Premium route.
