Change filters based on published app

My team is using Sharepoint to publish the same report to multiple apps. We're looking for a way to have a filter update based on which app the report is being viewed from. For example, we have a dashboard published to our Emergency Medicine app and our Family Medicine app and we would like to have the data filtered to the department corresponding to the app from which it's being viewed. This isn't a RLS issue as all of the data is aggregated.

I've done something like this by setting up a query parameter that's used as a filter for the data. For example, if there's a [Department] column in the data with values "Emergency Medicine" and "Family Medicine", then I'd create a parameter with those two options and add a filter step to the query where [Department] = Parameter.

Then you can publish the same pbix to multiple apps but set the parameter differently in the dataset settings:

(Scroll down to "Configuring query parameters".)
