Cannot refresh python data source: Query contains unknown function name: Python.Execute

Hi All,

In PowerBi desktop I have a python data source. It is able to refresh fine there. However when I publish to PowerBi service, the data will not refresh. This is the error message:

Unable to determine the data source due to unknown functions. When custom connectors are used, the error can happen if gateway doesn't have the extension enabled. Details: Query contains unknown function name: Python.Execute.

I have set up a personal access gateway and python is installed on the same machine. The gateway has access to the service. 

What could the issue be here?

The issue is that you are trying to run an unsupported command. Most likely something that requires admin privileges on the local machine. Without seeing the Python code it will be difficult to help further.
