I have some reports that use local, unchanging data from excel files.
I also have "Include in Report Refresh" disabled on all local data files as they are static files.
The reports also connect to Business Central live databases.
Since 11/2/2021 the reports have stopped refreshing, with an error regarding credenials. When I disable the local data files (Enable/Disable Load in the PowerQuery Editor) and re-publish, they are able to refresh without error.
The error:
| Data source error: | Scheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh. |
It's confusing becasue it used to do a daily scheduled refresh without problem.
Appreciate your input.
Hi @aj1973, I have the same problem as Jason. I don't have personal Gateway installed in my laptop. What I should do? I can't refresh the data.
You need to install a personal Gateway in your machine or on Premises. What is your datasource? how is your report connected?

Hi @aj1973, my data source are 4 excel files which are on Teamsite on Sharepoint. Do I need install also personal gateway if all these files are in this cloud?
No, since the files are in sharepoint online then you don't need a Gateway. What is the issue then?

In the dataset settings go to the credentials section and check which credentials it is actually complaining about. Then refresh these.
Credentials do expire. This is an annoying but necessary part of the process.
The credentials area is not selectable.
