Hi all,
I'm at a bit of a conundrum. A couple of years ago I was doing some projects with data (I don't normally work with data), and thought gettign a subscription to Power BI would be a good idea. I used it for my projects and it was great, but I didn't use it after that. So I tried to cancel my subscription.
It turns out that I must havee made my account in a weird way since I'm an individual. Monthly invoices are being sent to my personal email address, and it shows my lukeown.onmicrosoft.com domain. But no other information about my account. I'm at a loss, I've tried logging in with every other microsoft account I have, and the subscription isn't on any of them. I found a way to login with my personal gmail account, and the subscription isn't there either.
I've tried searching for answers, but haven't had any luck finding similar issues. I haven't found a way to send a contact form or help ticket to Microsoft or Power BI or else I would have gone that route. I'vee been getting billed $20/month for over a year now with seemingly no way to cancel my subscription. Anyone else been in this position or have any ideas?
I managed to cancel it the following day! I had to call because their chat was no help. The number I called was 1 (800) 865-9408 (keep in mind that I'm in Canada). They asked for some information from the monthly invoice, email, address, phone number, etc., and were able to cancel it and refund me for one month.
They mentioned that I was supposed to log in with my domain instead of my personal email, but I didn’t want to try that—I just wanted it canceled.
Hope this helps you!
Please tell me you found a way to cancel it! I have the exact same issue right now and I am getting so frustrated.
If you did find a way, please share it!
Sadly, I have not. I've been stuck in my subscription since July 2020. I have made multiple attempts to reach out for help, and have not been helped or even responded to. It's nuts.
Hopefully some billing employee stumbles upon this thread one day, but until then, we'll be giving $9.99/month to Microsoft.
