Can't Connect to SSAS tabular model by live query from power bi service

Hi there, I was trying to connect on premise SSAS tabular model from power bi service.

Before the connection, I've set

i) Data gateway

ii) UPN mapping

However, when I connected to SSAS tabular server (SQL 2016) in power bi service, error message was jumped as below

"Error executing the query because the cube or some internal structures have not been processed (or do not exist)."

(BTW, I can connect it sucessfully from power bi desktop)

Can anyone help solve this problems?  Any advise or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hi @Leann,

Can you please provide more detail contents about this issue? For e.g. (gateway type, detailed error message, local gateway log, upn setting...) It will be help for troubleshooting.

Xiaoxin Sheng

Hi Xiaoxin,

Thanks a lot for your help. Here is the information

gateway type: Enterprise gateway

detailed error message:

The only Information I can see on the screen is "Error executing the query because the cube or some internal structures have not been processed (or do not exist)."

UPN setting:

type of rule for this data source: Customdata

and I replace the power bi address with AD domain address

Is the problem highly related to the UPN setting? Thanks.

Thanks,

LeAnn

Hi @Leann,

Does this AD domain account has enough permission to operation the SSAS datasource?(power bi request system admin right)
In addtion, how did you use upn? If you means fully replace, current power bi not support this.

BTW, have you enable the proxy on this gateway?

Regards,

Xiaoxin Sheng
