Can someone please explain why D is the answer. I think B should be answer.

You are correct. B should be the answer as other visuals will not allow you to set up alerts as the alert needs a single value as result.
When you pin the report to a dashboard, the Alert option doesn't even exist.

hi @ranjan_tiwari, Yes, as mentioned by @Fowmy option B is correct; you would require to pin the KPI card to a dashboard and then manage alerts as seen in the below screenshot
