Hi!
Lets say I want to mix it up for some reason, using both Power BI Service and on prem Report Server.
Can I connect a PowerBI Service report to an on prem dataset in Report Server via the Enterprise Gateway or does the dataset have to be hosted in an on prem sql analysis service instance?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@Anonymous You can't connect to the RS dataset itself, but you could certianly connect to the same source as the RS dataset. I would recommend that route anyway, you really should never use a different reporting element as the source for a different report... wow that would be a nightmare to un-wind for anyone else looking for a bug or to update something.
You don't need SSAS, you can connect to the SQL server (assuming here) directly from Power BI.
