Hello, I've been playing around with the auto refresh functionality in PowerBI for a while and am aware of the options presented in the Report Server as well as the Gateway Refresh via the admin portal using an on-prem database. My question is:
Am I able to use a web hook to import data to powerBI and refresh it automatically on an interval the same way I can with an on-prem DB?
Obviously trying to avoid the paywall with the Report Server via this method. Answers I've found so far have been inconclusive/misleading.
Thanks for any help.
@n0ab Not entirely sure what you are trying to do but the Power BI REST API seems like it would do what you want:

Or just the normal scheduled refresh options in the Service.
Hi. Power Bi Service allows data refreshes. You have to publish the Desktop file that will break down into two components. A Dataset and a Report. That dataset can be configure to refresh sometimes a day. You can do it directly configuring credentials when the sources are web/cloud or you must install a gateway if you get data from onpremise sources. Once your file is published you can configure the refrehs of the data.
I have explained that because you can't import the file as you say. That must be already defined when publish.
I hope that make sense
Happy to help!
