Not a Dashboard but you could use Publish to Web on a Report.

@Greg_Deckler over web it will be openly viewed by others ? i dont want others to have access to dataset but only report. And can we restrict other user to reshare the report?

So, there are some upsides and downsides to Publish to Web.

  • Pro: Secret key is used and this is not publicly indexable/searchable. In other words, people are not going to somehow discover the link to your report via a search engine or other means
  • Con: Secret key link is a "once you have it, you have it" kind of thing. Basically, once a user has the link, they can forward it to anyone and that person could view it.
  • Pro: The user only has access to the report, not the dataset

@Greg_Deckler, is there ANY way of removing that "SHARE" button at the right botton corner of the report after you Publish It to Web?

We need to use this feature in order to publish our reports on our Intranet (running on Sharepoint Services 3.0), but the "SHARE feature" is what makes it a security liability.

I am guessing that due to the announcement yesterday that button will go away but that is speculation on my part.

Actually, I think that due to yesterdays annoucement, that button become the only possibility to share a report for free (after you Publish it to the web) and very unlikely to disappear.

@Greg_Deckler thanks
