Analyze in excel does not save credential

Hello fellows,

I have a problem again. I have an excel file connected to power bi dataset. This file is saved in sharepoint.

Then this file is synchronized to server. There is a trigger in scheduler, which every morning opens this file and starts a macro to refresh data. It works well about a year. But now a problem appeared. Every time the scheduler opens the file, of it is opened manually, it wants credentials (and the vba macro stops).

I found this excellent post for this tissue:

https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/How-does-quot-Analyze-in-Excel-quot-know-who-I-am-...

but my problem is oposite. I do not have the file with credentials and I do not know how to make it.

Anybody can help?

Hi @RadkaProefo

Based on the information you provided, you can try the following to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check to see if the file has stored credentials in the location shown here.

  • updated versions of Power Bi and Office
  • Re-establish the connection between excel file and Power Bi. Before doing this, if necessary, please backup the history of the connection to avoid it being overwritten by the new connection.

If I've misunderstood you, please provide more detailed information. So that I can help you better. Show it as a screenshot or excel. Please remove any sensitive data in advance.

Hi Support,

thank you for answer, but the connections are not in Power BI, it is in Excel. It is connected to Power BI service to a dataset.

The credentials used to be saved. But now the Excel askes for account to connect every time I open it.

Excel is quite updated, I will ask our provider to update it again.

Re-establishment did not help.
