Allow external users (outside organization) to edit reports

Hi all,

I shared a report and semantic model to external user and granted them build access. The external user was able to create a report using the shared semantic model, but after saving it, they can no longer edit it.

How can I enable the external user to edit the report they created?

Hi @elim555 Inorder for the external user to edit the report please try this

  • Grant reshare permission to ensure the user has access to the dataset or model.
  • Add them as a member or contributor to the workspace.
  • Confirm Azure B2B collaboration is enabled for external access.
  • Suggest saving the report in a workspace where they have edit rights.
  • Ensure the external user has a Power BI Pro or Premium Per User license.

Hi @elim555,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

It looks like you want to give edit priviledge on your semantic model to external users. Please go through the provided link where another user faced the same issue and was able to solve it and follow the mentioned steps there so that you will be able to solve your issue.
