Allocating PPU licenses to users via Entra ID Security group

Hello,

I understand that Power BI Premium Per User (PPU) licenses can be allocated to users in an organisation in the below manner.

  • Create an Entra ID Security Group and add N number of users to this Entra ID group
  • Allocate N number of PPU licenses to this Entra ID group.

In this way, users can be added and removed to/from the Entra ID group and as a result PPU licenses will be auto allocated to users in the group.

Q1) Are there resources to learn more on how to implement this? Is this a recommended approach to allocate PPU licences?

Q2) What happens when the number users in the Entra ID group exceed the number of PPU licenses?

Q3) Is it possible to share 10 PPU licenses with say 25 users, if there will be only 10 concurrent users of PPU workspaces?

Q4) When a particular user wants to work 2 hours in a PPU workspace, can a PPU licence be allocated to that particular user  for 2 hours?
