Hi,
I wonder if anyone has experienced anything similar and could share some tips:
So recently we started automating dataflow/dataset refreshes via Control-M.
The process goes like this roughly speaking: i) jobs completed in SAP BW; ii) dataflows updated, iii) dataset updated. iv) report updated; v) dashboard tile updated vi) Power Automate fires an alert and sends the report to the users.
After we started automating refreshes via Control-M, the dataflow, dataset, report get refreshed properly (so first four steps above). Even the dashboard tile gets updated, but it is missing this green notification sign as shown below. This green bell sign only appears if I refresh the dataset manually or through scheduled PowerBI refresh.
And here comes the problem. The Power Automate alert is no longer fired. Any idea what might be happening that might cause the dashboard figures to be updated but still to be missing this green bell icon, which in turn then appearently leads to the absence of Power Automate alerts being fired?
Any idea, tip would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi, @Giorgi1989
Based on the information you provided, it seems that the dashboard tile is getting updated but the green bell icon is missing. This could be due to a refresh issue. There is a known issue where the Power BI dashboard in service displays a gray Power BI icon. The dashboard uses Azure analysis services data source through direct query. When the dashboard is left alone for some time (about 5 minutes), the visuals start loading successfully. When we manually refresh the dashboard, the dashboard visuals load the data successfully. This issue can impact email subscription for the affected dashboard to be sent out with Power BI gray Icon.
It is also possible that the Power Automate alert is not being fired due to a refresh issue. Whenever you refresh data in a dataset, whether by using Refresh Now or by setting up a refresh schedule, Power BI uses information in the dataset to connect to the data sources defined for it, query for updated data, and then loads the updated data into the dataset. Any visualizations in your reports or dashboards based on the data are updated automatically. Regardless of how often you refresh the dataset, or how often you look at live data, it is the data at the data source that must be up-to-date first.
It is recommended to check the refresh settings for the dataset and ensure that the refresh is happening as expected. You can manually refresh a dataset by using Refresh Now or setup a refresh schedule by using Schedule Refresh in a dataset’s settings.

Quick update: The issue was resolved. Now the alerts are fired after the automated refreshes have been completed via Control-M.
