Hello,
How can I connect to Fabric using username/password without an interactive login?
My application uses a backend connection, so I need to connect to Fabric using a username and password.
I can't use a dialog box or any interactive login to provide credentials.
It possible to perform this kind of authentication programmatically?
If yes, how can I set it up?
Thank you all.
Best regards,
Daniela

Hi @danielaboamba,
Basic auth is not possible into Fabric itself, either you need to follow the oauth flow with a user account, or you need to use a service principal.

Hi @danielaboamba - I'm Dave from the SQL Drivers team. Great to meet you!
Your best bet for this scenario is Service Principal Authentication. It gives you the ease of a SQL login but mitigates most of the security risks. Active Directory Password Authentication is another option that works pretty much the same way but we are working on deprecating that option and ask that you not use it.
Hope that helps!
Dave
