What is the reason that Azure SQL DB cannot be mirrored if CDC is enabled? Will this restriction be lifted as Fabric continues to be developed? What's the best workaround for this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @ELsea
Azure SQL Database doesn’t support mirroring to Microsoft Fabric when CDC is enabled. That’s because CDC relies on system tables and transaction logs that aren’t exposed through standard connectors or replicated to Fabric. This creates conflicts when trying to sync data pipelines or Real-Time Mirroring in Fabric.
It’s unlikely this restriction will change, since CDC is tightly coupled with internal SQL mechanisms. The better approach is to use incremental loading via ADF or Fabric Data Pipelines.
