What is the sense of Report Server from a security view?

What is the sense of Report Server if we already have PBI Service? I understand that Report Server is on-premises solution and PBI Service cloud based. But in each case we can connect selected users to interact with our content. Why are these depoyment modes so significant?

Multiple industries have different legislation affecting their modus operandi, governing what the businesses may or may not do with the data they collect.

Some legislation dictates that an organization's data (particularly sensistive data) is kept within control of the company and not to be leased out, or managed, to others especially - to other nations. When you have a cloud-hosted solution, your data is stored on the cloud, i.e. not within your company's direct authority.

The data host is the one that actually controls your data - or at least the access to it - and this is unacceptable for some. For example in Australia, hosting sensitive health information in cloud datacenters located in America is illegal. The data must exist in Australian datacentres.

Thus the need for on-premises solutions.
