I just upgraded to Power BI Report Server September 2024 version. while I was testing the behavior of the dashboard, it was fine in localhost portal. When users access by the IP, there was an error happened. The error message is "Something went wrong. Unable to load the model........" the image is attached below.
Please advise if anything I can fix it.
Hi all, is it related to new version of Power BI report server? because when I am rolling back to May 2024 version. There is no error.
Sure it is 🙂
What's just happening about new version of Report server ...? =[
I'm also experiencing this, with the same pattern. The dashboards work fine in the localhost report server, but get the same "something went wrong" message when they accessed by users from the server.
Hi Gary
We are seeing the exact same and have spend hours of research on it... have you solved it ?
/Jesper
Hi @gary_yw247
Did Jesperdc 's method solve your problem? If yes, could you please mark it as solution? This will help more users who are facing the same or similar difficulties. Thank you!
Hi, @dpos
Have you tried Jesperdc 's method? If not, please try to see if his method can solve your problem.
If you still have questions, please feel free to ask me.
Best Regards,
Yulia Xu
Hi Yulia, im same with dpos, the advice is not working for me
Hi @gary_yw247
I need to confirm with you whether my test process is the same as yours. My test is as follows:
Did you create the report in PowerBIDesktopRS and then publish it to the Power BI Report Server Web portal?
I have updated both to the September version:
Version of Power BI Report Server:
PowerBIDesktopRS:
Then I saved this report to the Web portal.
Local access:
Access it from another computer using the IP address:
If I do anything differently than you do, please feel free to correct me. It would be even better if you could share your testing process. Please remove any sensitive data in advance. Thank you for your time and efforts in advance.
Best Regards,
Yulia Xu
Hi Yulia, Sorry for late reply, I have conifrmed with my colleauge. Yes, it should be same way as you did. For publishing, we sometimes upload it in portal but mostly publish from the dashaboard like you did.
Hi Yulia, I checked the RSPowerBI. log file. I got an error called "Validate Referer Failed"
I'm not using Azure Application proxy to publish the internal reporting site; Jesperdc's method does not apply to my situation.
Are you using Azure Application proxy to publish the internal reporting site?
We have for now ended up by remove the "Translate Urls in application body" under advanced in the enterprise application that uses app proxy.
We had the same problem only it was translate URLs in headers. Thanks for the tip.
