Schedule Refresh start time delay on PBI Report Server (January 2025)
We've run into an issue where our scheduled refreshes aren't starting on time. They are several hours late, and the server resources are not strained. The problem appeared a few days ago, and at that time the delay was around 2-3 hours; today it is even around 10-12 hours. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening and how we can check what's causing it? Thanks in advance.
Hi nikolailic2 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
Please check below things to fix the issue.
1. Check and Update Configuration, check rsreportserver.config for MaxQueueThreads, PollingInterval, IsDataModelRefreshService and Monitor Logs.
2. Check for refresh-related errors in RSPowerBI_*.log.
3. Check the Event and ExecutionLog3 tables for stuck jobs or refresh failures.
4. If refreshes are consistently delayed, consider separating servers for rendering and refresh tasks.
5. Please try to download and install Power BI report server latest version.
