Hi everyone,
Our company has decided to migrate reports from Tableau to PowerBI.
We use Apps to manage our reports, but I noticed that my changes cannot be kept when sharing reports on apps. This is not good because when sharing with colleagues or creating use cases, sharing links requires keeping changes to the report (Tableau's default feature), but not in apps.
How can I achieve this in PowerBI Apps? It's very useful, thank you!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
While you can save the report with default filters the standard approach is to share the app with unfiltered reports and to let the users apply their own filters
Please provide a more detailed explanation of what you are aiming to achieve. What have you tried and where are you stuck?
Hi lbendlin,
Thanks for reply! For example, when our report was published, all affiliates were selected. In the PBI APP, I want to share the report with user A in Hong Kong. Of course, I will select the HK affiliate and click on the share and copy link. But after user A opened the link, the affiliate was still all selected, and he needs to manually select HK again.
This is just a simple example, it will be much more complex in reality.
So may I ask if there is any way to keep my changes to the report when someone opens the link from the App share.
Thank you!
