I installed SQL 2016 and Power Bi on Windows Server 2012 R2 and am able to deploy SSRS reports to the Report Service, but I am unable to correctly open Power Bi reports. I can deploy the reports, but the reports are continually being opened downloaded and they are not opening witin the browser, am I missing an application that needs to be installed?
I do have Power BI Integration on my list on the Configuration manager, and at this point I am not Registering it since my goal is to have it run locally without accessing the cloud.
On the reports, I am using an ODBC connection.
Check out the April 2026 Power BI update to learn about new features.
