Power BI Report Builder - Inconsistent Report Rendering Across Different Environments

We're experiencing inconsistent report rendering behavior for a SSRS/PBIR report (RDLP) across different environments. The report has been functioning correctly for 3 months until recently.

Current Behavior:
1. Power BI Report Builder (Desktop):
- Renders correctly with all expected data
- Shows all 21 pages as designed

2. Customer Browser Access:
- Only shows 4 pages
- Incomplete data rendering

3. Developer Browser Access:
- Shows blank/white page
- No data rendered
-Filters work and are selected correctly

Technical Details:
- Report Type: RDLP (Power BI Report Builder)
- Data Source: Power BI Dataset
- Recent Changes: None on our end
- Duration of Issue: Recently emerged after working correctly for 3 months

Expected Behavior:
All environments should render the complete report (21 pages) with full data, matching the Power BI Report Builder preview.

Impact:
This inconsistency affects our production environment and customer experience. The report is critical for business operations and needs to render consistently across all access methods.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
1. Verified data source connectivity
2. Confirmed report settings are identical across environments
3. Validated user permissions and access rights
4. Tested with multiple browsers and users ( IE, Chrome Opera)

5. Affects mutlible reports.

Request:
Please investigate potential service layer changes that might affect report rendering consistency across different access methods.

Could you please provide guidance on:
1. Known service-side changes that might affect rendering, last update date? any breaking changes?
2. Recommended configuration adjustments
3. Any required updates to maintain consistent behavior

I know this is in preview still but customers need this especially moving from on prem to cloud.

Hi BMG001 - What is RDLP? Paginated reports are .rdl files. When did this start happening? You mention SSRS which is on premise. Do you mean the Power BI Service?

Sorry, yes rdl file.

Last week, friday we noticed.

Yes, all in power bi service.

Just old habit since i know ssrs by heart.

Can you capture the rootActivityId's for reports with data rendering issues? I would like to see if it is related to something we have changed. In Chrome browser, open dev tools (F-12). Under network tab, find the session call. There is a requestId, see picture below.

I looked in the backend traces. The issue appears to be coming from data source credentials. Possibly something changed on your side? The owner of the reports or data sources? Since you are using semantic models as data source, you can fix by deleting and uploading the reports. You could try this with one report to make sure. Actually, you don't have to delete. You can leave the old report in place but rename the report and upload it new.

Thanks for the reply,
I have already done that, delete report, import new one, etc.
My user (admin on workspace) gets the data for the filters but not data in report,

Customer user gets data for filters and only sees data on 4 pages.

My user (admin) in power bi report Builder desktop getts all 17 pages with full data (as expected) given the same filter on all places.

Model and report are in same workspace.
Filter section on web, (getting data in these fields from the model

report builder desktop version, we get 17 pages and data in all page. same filter and connection to model.

if you see something new.. (new report, new name, recreated the connection in the builder to the model).. same issue. no data.

is see this now in the notework

Hi BMG001 - The failed operation is a client side issue typically. I am guessing access issues with the credentials for the data source. This will be too hard to solve here, I suggest filing a support request.

Will do, this just makes no sence..

this is a stripted down layout of the report, sama dataset, same user, same report just published to the service..
