On premise server refreshing excel document from sharepoint online

we have a PBI report built on prem

it has 2 excel spreadsheets as data sources from our sharepoint site -cloud

connections work ok from the client, but we are unable to do scheduled refresh

how to achieve this?

Unfortunately you cannot do this. Sharepoint Online is documented here Power BI report data sources in Power BI Report Server - Power BI | Microsoft Learn as not supporting scheduled refresh. Your options are to either host your report on the Power BI service or use some other process to bring the files into a location that PBIRS can use for a scheduled refresh (such as a local network share)
