Anythoughts on how to fix this error? @Petebro

Thanks,

Praveen

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Looks like the maxfilesize should be only 1000 or 2000. It won't accept even 1024 or 2048.

We have tried to reproduce this internally and haven't been able to. Are you able to setup a fresh test instance of PBIRS and try to upload the same PBIX file. If that fails can you contact support to provide the report in question? I don't want you to post it publicly obviously.

Can you please guide on raising a service ticket for Reporting Server. I was able to upload the same pbix in May Version Reporting server and works fine

Hi, @PraveenRS

Have you solved the current problem? In my test, the October version of Report Server imported 5 tables with 20k rows in import mode and uploaded them to Report Server without encountering your error.

I can upload :

I just tried to investigate whether it is related to your environment or the current version. If you have the steps to reproduce the problem, it will help me investigate it further. Thank you again!

As you described, you can upload it in the May version, as an alternative solution, you can use the May version instead of the September version, and when the next version is released, you can update it.

Hi, @PraveenRS

According to the error message, you can follow the steps below to check your Report Server file size limit:

Hi @Petebro

Error from log:

Hi, @PraveenRS

Thank you for your reply. Are you using import mode? There is a limit in Power BI Report Server: Maximum supported size: 2GB, which is a hard-coded limit that cannot be changed and must not be exceeded. This limit will be in effect even if the configurable limit is disabled or set to a value greater than 2GB.
This limit is not affected by MaxFileSizeMB.
In addition, I also considered a question, that is, if you configured MaxFileSizeMB, have you restarted your Report server? Usually, you need to restart your report server after the configuration file is changed.

Hi, @PraveenRS

Thank you for your reply. This makes me rethink the actual size of your PBIX file. You can check it by following the method in the following article:

Solved: real size of data model - Microsoft Fabric Community

vjianpengmsft_0-1729053037534.png

This will reflect the actual size of your dataset and then check if it exceeds the limit.

There are no calaculated fileds. it's just a flat file with 20k records . 100% sure it's not even 10 mb. It's existing file and if I just refreshed and trying to upload also it's not working
