Issue with March Desktop version and path length

I've encountered an issue when attempting to install the March release of Power BI Desktop for Report Server. When I try to install this on a Windows 7 machine I receive the following error: "The specified path is too long: C:\<Folder>\<Folder>\Power BI Desktop". This doesn't repro when installing any of the previous releases of Desktop for Report Server or Desktop for Cloud Service. Modifying the path isn't an option as it's global redirection to network drives for saved files for all programs. Is this an issue with the March .msi? If not, is there a workaround that doesn't require modifying the path names in the destination folders?
