Hi,@goms12 .I am glad to help you.
Are you having problems setting up cell row breaks in Power BI Report Builder. Is the excel you are referring to directed out to Excel?
If so please describe in detail the problem you are experiencing and what action you are taking when you encounter the problem of not being able to disable row breaks (is Excel referring to Export to Excel in Report Builder)
Here is my test, hope it will help you.
You need to set the "Limit row height" setting for all cells in the table/matrix (or at least all cells in the same row)
select “Allow height to decrease”, not "Allow height to increase".
I tested it and if you set this option only for some cells in the same row, when you preview or export report to excel, it still ends up with a line feed (you have to set this option for all the cells in the same row, and the cells in that row do not get a line feed when displaying the data as a whole, they stretch horizontally)
When I scale the height of the cell so that it only displays one row of data.
You can see the result: both tables, because they are set up correctly, have not changed the height of their cells. But they have been extended horizontally.
It should be noted that this may lead to the data is not fully displayed, so you need to adjust the row height and column width of the cell to ensure that the data is fully displayed.
I also tested: if you set the General CanGrow property of the cell TextBox individually, and reduce the row height of the cell to one row.
If you set CanGrow= false for all the cells in a row, you can also realize that the cells don't change rows
like this
If I want the second row of data in the table to be non-row-wrapped
I need to set all four cells of the row [ID],[SHOW DATE],[SECETION],[Presale Inventory] to
General >CanGrow >False
I recommend that you set both positions accordingly.
Note that all cells without line breaks need to be modified.
The final result of Export To Excel is as follows
For excel, to disable cell line breaks, you can take the following approach:
Select the cell or cell area you want to modify. Then, in the “Start” tab to find the “Alignment” group, click the small arrow button in the lower right corner, open the “Format Cells” dialog box.
In the pop-up dialog box, select “Alignment” tab. In the “Text Control” area, you will see a check box called “Auto Line Feed”. By default, this checkbox is checked, indicating that automatic line feeds are enabled. To disable automatic line feeds, simply uncheck the box and click the OK button.
I also found similar issues that have been resolved, so I hope that helps.
