Getting an error "Something went wrong" error when trying to setup a scheduled refresh

Getting an error "An error has occurred.","Something went wrong. Please try again later." error when trying to setup a scheduled refresh in out on premises Power BI report server.

i.e. New Scheduled Refresh plan - entered a description, Selected a shared schedule (created earlier), and pressed the button labelelled "Create scheduled refresh plan" - then get the error above.

Can anyone see why we might be getting this error ?

Hi @gregboothdelt ,

do you have more details in this case?

First check If the SQL Agent is running - this will be required to set up a refresh plan.

After check if the Service User you choose in the Report Server Configuration manager has the right permissions to set up a refresh plan.

Check your own permissions: you must be a content manager/ publisher to do this. To use/ delete a scheduel refresh you need the conten manager or modify the publisher role.

Best,

Kathrin
